Hey, thanks for the awesome and informative reply.

It's Loud.

But I figure as the intake is an aftermarket cone, perhaps it would even make a bypass valve sound louder.

Ill look into it as I get home tonight as I already have the new maf to install :D

My previous car was a modded 2000 Jetta TDI.
I replaced the clutch with a single mass VR6 / G60 flywheel. Never had a smoother clutch with it's only flaw being excessive gear chatter. But yea, regardless of it being stiff, it does work perfectly.

Aftermarket air filter and BOV could very well be the reason for your CEL !

I will look for an oem airbox.
Last time I had a cone air filter was on a 1992 civic as a 17 year old dumbass.
Given this is a turbocharged car past year 2000, I feel OEM is the best way to go.

I received my "OEM" MAF today... "OEM" as it's from Ebay claiming OEM... but it wasen't.
Tried it, car can't start. Stalls out instantly.

I also bought what I think is a decent bluetooth ODB2 cel reader from amazon. Thousands of positive reviews so I think it should be fine. Ill get an idea from there.

Thanks for the constant help guys, you are all awesome.

Edit.
Ordered OEM Sensor from rockauto.
A bit more expensive than ebay, but you get what you pay for. I didn't expect ebay sellers to flat out lie in OEM claims, with OEM pictures.... in the end, 45$ usd is simply too cheap for it to be real.
