legacy GT wagon 2.5T

Message par mr.white4 »

bonjour groupe

merci

If I understood correctly, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Sedan springs will fit a wagon, the shock is the same (different valving maybe). But a wagon, having a heavier rear end, will sit lower than noted when using sedan springs. Main reason why people are running butt spacers.

I think, at 3/8" spacers, or taller, you require new studs in your tophats, keep that in mind. Some companies
do offer wagon specific springs but it really limits your choices of manufacturer. Swift has a wagon specific spring
but I would be curious to know if it is actually different from the sedan equivalent.

KYB is a cost effective choice, and the Bilstein HD's or JDM versions are popular also. Then theres always coilovers...

Im going with Bilstein HD's, epic engineering springs and 3/8" spacers... Give me a month or so and I could let you know what I think and how it feels.

the strut and top plate is the same for sedan or wagon... so the spring rate is probably different because the rear end wagon is heavier.

But why need a but spacers?

I already purchase my tein coils, 1,5'' drop. probably next week I will receive and then i will see whats gonna happen!

the butt spacers simply raise the rear given that a wagon rear end is heavier...
if your interested, fredbeanparts.com sells 3/8" spacers with new tophat studs all in one kit...

Tein is the worst when it comes to a solid suspension.

Swift springs (Eibach's rebrand) are the best for the buck and wagon specific so you don't need spacers.

From what I've read on the LGT forums, alot of people still installed spacers with wagon specific springs... :?
