Forced Performance 20G
(44 lb/min, 330-440whp, Bolt-On)
In typical Forced Performance fashion, a new breed of high horsepower turbos are now available for the Subaru WRX and STI in bolt on configuration. The FP2006 or FPWRX20G features a 44lb minute compressor and huge TDO6 turbine wheel. The FPWRX20G typically produces 350-380WHP with astounding spool up response and efficiency.
The FPWRX20G’s 7cm ported exhaust housing retains the stock Subaru flange patterns. An internal wastegate is standard on the FP20G with an adjustable 15psi high pressure actuator and is capable of filling the Subaru motor with over 25 psi of boost if called upon. Install is simple and straightforward, allowing use of existing exhaust and intercooler components.
This 20g turbo offers similar pump gas performance to our FPGreen model, while reducing the boost threshold by a couple hundred RPM due to its slightly smaller compressor wheel. These slightly smaller lower interia rotating components benefit applications where pump gas is the primary fuel used and boost pressures do not exceed 22psi. Applications requiring higher power output above 22psi would select the FPGreen model over this 20G.
This unit operates very effectively in the 18-25psi range on the 2.5 STi engine, but is slightly lower in maximum power output on race gas (boost above 22psi) compared to our FPGreen model. Many daily driver applications will find that the slight reduction in boost threshold is more than a fair trade for the slightly lower power output on race gas that they never plan on running anyway.
Porting, new coolant lines and internal wastegate are already included in the price of this turbocharger and do not result in additional charges!
For pump gas applications we have added the option to select a larger 34mm wastegate flapper valve. This larger flapper valve increases the wastegate flow volume and allows boost to be set below 20psi dependably over the entire RPM range. Do not select this option if you intend to run race gas and boost pressure above 28psi.
Limited quantities of 8CM turbine housing are now in stock. To upgrade your turbo to the more powerful 8CM housing, please call your order in. There is a $100 fee for the upgrade to 8CM housing. 10/02/06
Expect to achieve full boost with the proper mods and a quality tune between 3500-4000rpms. Fuel upgrades for this turbocharger and proper engine management should be considered necessary for all vehicles.

Forced Performance Green
(49 lb/min, 350-490whp, Bolt-On)
In typical Forced Performance, fashion a new breed of high horsepower turbos are now available for the Subaru WRX and STI in bolt on configuration. The “FPGreen” features a 49lb minute compressor and huge TDO6 turbine wheel. The FPGreen typically produces 400-450 WHP with astounding spool up response and efficiency. The term "Green Model" or "Green turbo" are trademark protected terms used to describe this specific combination of turbocharger components which includes our proprietary thrust bearing system. Forced Performance designed, developed and manufactured this unique combination of parts. Forced Performance Inc. is the sole source for the "Green Model" turbocharger. Nothing beats the original.
The FPGreen’s 7cm ported exhaust housing retains the stock Subaru flange patterns. An internal wastegate is standard on the FPGreen with an adjustable 15psi high pressure actuator and is capable of filling the Subaru motor with over 30 psi of boost if called upon. Install is simple and straightforward, allowing use of existing exhaust and intercooler components. This turbo features a 2.4" compressor housing inlet as standard spec or an optional 3" cover can be selected for those intending to run 3" air inlet tubes such as the Perrin tube.
Like all Forced Performance Mitsubishi race turbos, the FPGreen is fitted with FP’s proprietary severe duty bearing system which increases surface area to deal with the loads of high boost pressure found in racing applications. No other vendor can offer this thrust bearing system. Forced Performance also carries stainless steel high flow oil feed lines to complete your installation.
For those of you that run 3" air inlet tubes for your turbochargers, we can now offer the FPGreen model with the 3" inlet compressor housing. This has shown to significantly reduce lag and deliver more whp by reducing the Page Ranking the compressor section must operate at to achieve a given boost pressure. The corresponding reduction in turbine backpressure is the key to this improvement.
For pump gas applications, we have added the option to select a larger 34mm wastegate flapper valve. This larger flapper valve increases the wastegate flow volume and allows boost to be set below 20psi dependably over the entire RPM range. Do not select this option if you intend to run race gas and boost pressure above 28psi.
Expect to achieve full boost with the proper mods and a quality tune between 3800-4300rpms. Fuel upgrades for this turbocharger and proper engine management should be considered necessary for all vehicles.

Forced Performance Red
(65 lb/min, 400-650whp, May Require Modification)
Internal wastegate is now a ZERO $$ option. That's right! If you want it internally gated, you can have it internally gated for FREE, Nada, Zip.
Perrin makes an intake tube that fits this.
This turbo can be special ordered with a dry bearing housing that allows you to eliminate the water connections to the turbo. The standard configuration uses a Subaru type water cooled bearing housing with both water connections on the same side of the CHRA.
The thread specifications for the wet housing are as follows: Oil inlet - 10mm x 1.5mm, Water in/out 14mm x 1.5 (same side).

For more information on this turbocharger, see the below writeup from Gruppe-S.

Slowboy Racing GT-10
(44 lb/min, 275-325whp, Bolt-On)
On many 2.0l WRX motors, people running the basic bolt on modifications can expect 275-300 AWHP on a good tune with pump gas at 18-20 PSI. Those wanting to run race gas and 24-26 PSI can expect upwards of 325-330 AWHP.
Many 2.5l STI owners have been impressed with this turbo from the standpoint that it spools up very fast, but its limited flow capacity has limited this turbo on pump gas to around 320-330 AWHP at 18-20 PSI. Many 2.5l STI owners would be better suited with the GT11 or larger for those looking to make more HP.
Fuel upgrades for this turbocharger and proper engine management should be considered necessary for all vehicles.

Slowboy Racing GT-11
(50 lb/min, 300-350whp, Bolt-On)
2.0l WRX guys who intend to run a lot of boost pressure, tend to like the 700177-0011 CHRA from Garrett, however it is certainly not a pump gas king. 2.0l WRX owners should expect between 300-325 AWHP and STI owners between 340-360 AWHP at 18-20 PSI.
Switching to race gas and running between 24-26 PSI should yield another 20-30 AWHP on this unit.
2002-2005 WRX owners will need fuel upgrades for this turbocharger and proper engine management is highly recommended for all vehicles.
Fuel upgrades for this turbocharger and proper engine management should be considered necessary for all vehicles.

Slowboy Racing GT-12
(55 lb/min, 350-400whp, Bolt-On)
2.0l guys can expect a bit of lag from this 55 lb/min CHRA, however it is capable of making between 340-360 AWHP on pump gas and 18-20 PSI on a well tuned motor. The majority of the 2.0l fanatics tell us you must get this on a dynometer right away to get the most out of it. They also say at 4,000 RPM’s its time to hold on tight, because this turbo hits HARD!
This turbo is where the 2.5l guys need to be from the start, the extra displacement provides enough grunt to get this guy fully spooled before 4,000 RPM’s and is simply a great turbo for a daily driver who wants to make 360-380 AWHP on pump gas at 18-20 PSI. Expect over 400 AWHP on a great tune up, all the supporting modifications, race gas, and boost pressure between 24-26 PSI.
Fuel upgrades for this turbocharger and proper engine management should be considered necessary for all vehicles.

Slowboy Racing GT-13
(60 lb/min, 375-450whp, Bolt-On)
For the EJ20 guys, this is a big turbo capable of flowing 60 lbs/min of air. This turbo on a 2.0l motor will not achieve full boost until the low 4,200-4,300 RPM range. This means, you better be revving your motor to 8,000 RPM’s to make the most of this turbo! Since most of you are not revving this high, we suggest for the most part this remain an EJ25 turbo for the 2.5l crowd.
The STI fanatics have reported some success with this turbo using only the true bolt on compressor cover; however we suggest using the 3” inlet cover to get the most performance out of this particular CHRA. 2.5l guys should expect between 350-400 AWHP on pump gas at 18-20 PSI, and upwards of 430-450 AWHP with race gas and 24-26 PSI. This turbo is very capable of 30 plus PSI; do not try this at home! Dynographs coming soon.
Fuel upgrades for this turbocharger and proper engine management should be considered necessary for all vehicles.

Slowboy Racing GT-14
(65 lb/min, 400-500whp, Bolt-On)
Unless you are a fully built, hi revving EJ20 please look the other way! This turbo is hefty, you will not go looking for the beef any longer with this turbocharger!
This turbo is much better suited on an EJ25 with higher than stock compression or someone that has a bit of tolerance for a high boost threshold and is willing to have all his fun from 4,500 RPM’s and up! This turbo will only fit in the 3” compressor cover, so direct easy fitment is not certain, however smiles are guaranteed once you have the fitment behind you! Expect 400-425 AWHP on pump gas between 18-20 PSI, and capable of 440-460 AWHP on race gas. Dynographs coming soon.
Fuel upgrades for this turbocharger and proper engine management should be considered necessary for all vehicles.

Slowboy Racing 35R
(65 lb/min, 450-600whp, May Require Modification)
EJ20, 2.0l cars have not even tested this turbo yet! So, at this point we are unaware of how it would perform.
On a mildly worked EJ25, this turbo shows remarkable spool up for its size, which we contribute to the larger turbine wheel (same compressor wheel as GT-14, however the turbine wheel is larger). On all inline motors, the GT-14 spools a good bit faster than the 35R, however not on the EJ’s! This turbo has made over 405 AWHP on a 2.5l at only 19 PSI. It makes almost 400 ft/lbs of torque at 4200 RPM’s.
If you have some patience, and are good at making things fit, this is the turbo for you. Pair with our 3” inlet for a somewhat easier fit. The install is not for beginners; however it will bolt up to your stock up pipe location! Make sure you call and talk to one of us before ordering online.
Fuel upgrades for this turbocharger and proper engine management should be considered necessary for all vehicles.

VF53 = VF36
VF56 = VF42

That is basically it , The big question is what changes were made to the internals and fins.

IHI VF56

(250-350whp, twin scroll, ball bearing)
This is the standard equipment turbocharger used on the JDM Subaru WRX STI limited R205 and S206, twin scroll turbine housing, ball bearing, titanium. This turbo is the modern version of the VF42, Compressor housing designed for DBW throttle body.
